'The Faces of Israel '
A joint conference of the Jerusalem Post and the Museum of Tolerance.
The Faces of Israel conference took place immediately after Israel's 75th Independence Day, and was a joint production of the Museum of Tolerance and The Jerusalem Post.
The highlight of the conference, held in the museum's various halls, was the keynote speech by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who is currently running for president of the United States. DeSantis spoke about the warm and productive relationship between Florida and the State of Israel, and his intention to strengthen and expand this relationship in the future.
The event, which aroused considerable interest in the Israeli and international media, included a comprehensive discussion about the diverse identities and opinions that make up Israeli society, and included speakers from all the groups that constitute Israeli society – religious and secular, Arabs and Jews. Among the guests and participants at the conference were the President of the State of Israel, Mr. Isaac Herzog, and Nobel Prize laureates Professor Israel Auman, Professor Dan Shechtman and Professor Michal Schwartz. Also participating in the conference were Knesset member Mansour Abbas, Jerusalem Mayor Moshe Leon, U.S. Ambassador to Israel Thomas Nides and former Ambassador David Friedman.
More than 400 participants took part in the various panels and discussions held as part of the conference, and thousands more from Israel and around the world viewed it on the websites of the museum and the Jerusalem Post newspaper.
