WIZO and the Museum of Tolerance Jerusalem Celebrate Women’s Leadership and the Power of Unity
In the wake of October 7, women across Israel have turned personal loss and adversity into powerful acts of leadership, compassion, and social action. On Sunday, the Museum of Tolerance Jerusalem partnered with WIZO Jerusalem to honor inspiring women whose stories embody resilience, hope, and a commitment to bringing people together. The evening, titled “Women’s Empowerment: From Darkness to Light, From Crisis to Unity,” celebrated the transformative power of women’s leadership.
The event featured personal stories of resilience, courage, and a commitment to fostering unity in the aftermath of October 7.
Guests toured the Museum’s 06:29: From Darkness to Light exhibition, which documents the events of October 7, before attending a ceremony honoring women whose actions embody the spirit of unity and hope. Among those recognized were Iris Haim, mother of the late Yotam Haim, and Sarit Zusman, mother of the late Master Sergeant (Res.) Ben Zusman. Both have dedicated themselves to preserving their loved ones’ legacies and advancing messages of hope and solidarity.
The program also featured a discussion on “From Personal Crisis to Social Action,” with Dr. Granit Almog-Bareket, founder and director of the Museum’s Leadership Academy. The evening included welcome remarks, the presentation of certificates of recognition, and musical performances by women leaders from the United Kingdom.
The Museum of Tolerance Jerusalem extends its heartfelt thanks to WIZO Jerusalem and to all the speakers, honorees, and guests who made the evening so meaningful. Their stories were a powerful reminder of how women’s leadership can bridge divides, strengthen communities, and turn adversity into a force for unity and change.
