Mike Huckabee on the Museum of Tolerance Jerusalem: “A Place That Reminds People That Peace Is Possible”
The Museum of Tolerance Jerusalem partnered with the U.S. Embassy in Israel for Freedom 250, marking a significant milestone in American history and honoring the longstanding ties between the United States and Israel.
Ahead of the event, U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee spoke with the Jerusalem Post, praising the Museum and the message it represents in the heart of Jerusalem.
During his visit to the Museum ahead of the event, Huckabee spoke about the decision to hold the celebration there, describing it as “a magnificent venue, perfect for our event because it’s large enough and the technology here is state-of-the-art.” He added, “I can’t think of any location in the entire State of Israel that would be more appropriate.”
The interview touched, among other topics, on Israel-U.S. relations and hopes for expanding the circle of peace in the region. Reflecting on the Museum’s significance, Huckabee said: “We’re sitting in a place right now that is really kind of the epicenter of reminding people that peace is possible.”
Huckabee also spoke about the Museum’s location in the heart of Jerusalem and its significance as a symbol of Jewish and Israeli resilience. He described the Museum as “a great reminder of the travails of the Jewish people, coming from some of the most horrific moments of history to a place where now, in the very center of the heart of Jerusalem, this magnificent facility stands as a testament to the resilience of the Israeli people of the Jewish state.”
