Forensics, Memory and Responsibility: An International Conference Marking Three Years Since the October 7 Attacks

Over two days, the Museum of Tolerance Jerusalem hosted the international conference Forensics, Memory and Responsibility, in partnership with Hadassah Medical Center. The conference examined the professional lessons learned from the October 7 attacks in the fields of forensic medicine and criminal identification.

The conference brought together experts from Israel and around the world in the fields of human remains identification, forensic anthropology, dental identification, fingerprint analysis and forensic medicine. Participants shared knowledge and experience gained in responding to this tragic event of extraordinary scale and complexity, while exploring approaches to preparedness for future emergencies.

Beyond the professional aspects, the conference also explored the connection between documentation and identification, memory, education and responsibility to future generations, and how evidence and testimony become part of our historical and collective memory.

Thank you to all the speakers, partners and professionals, and to everyone who attended, participated and contributed to the professional and human dialogue throughout the conference.

The Museum of Tolerance Jerusalem and Hadassah Medical Center thank everyone who took part in two days of learning, knowledge-sharing, remembrance and responsibility.
