Voices of Brotherhood and Tolerance: A Special Musical Performance Conducted by Dan Rapoport
Sixteen voices. Four continents. One shared harmony. The Museum of Tolerance Jerusalem welcomes Ensemble Nuances for a special musical journey celebrating tolerance, hope and our shared humanity.
Titled “Voices of Brotherhood and Tolerance” this unique performance takes audiences on a moving journey through music, words and cultures, exploring the values of tolerance, human solidarity and hope.
Rather than taking place in a traditional concert setting, the performance unfolds on the staircase connecting the museum’s four floors, with the audience gathered around the singers for an intimate, immersive experience. Accompanied by commentary and introductions, the performance brings music to life in the heart of the museum, creating a space where voices, cultures and ideas meet.
Ensemble Nuances features 16 singers from across Israel, from Sderot to Haifa, with roots spanning four continents. Their diverse backgrounds are reflected in rich, layered harmonies that demonstrate how different voices can create something beautiful when they sing as one.
The program spans musical periods and traditions, featuring works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Johannes Brahms, Jean-Philippe Rameau, Ennio Morricone, Salomone Rossi and Paul Ben-Haim, alongside Israeli compositions, including Or V’Yerushalayim (Light and Jerusalem) by Yosef Sarig. Together, these works create a rich musical tapestry that crosses borders, languages and identities, revealing the connections that bind us together.
The performance will be conducted and hosted by Dan Rapoport, an internationally experienced conductor who has led orchestras and vocal ensembles throughout Europe and conducted opera productions in Italy. He has also developed and led special concerts at historic sites and museums, bringing music into distinctive settings. Rapoport is the music director of the Quadrivium Ensemble Orchestral Venezia, a Venice-based orchestral ensemble dedicated to classical music.
Join us for an evening that celebrates how music can bring us closer and remind us of all that we share.
Please note: The performance is standing-room only.
