A Stop for Tolerance in the Race to a Million | Hundreds of Teens Visit MOTJ
Hundreds of teenagers visited the Museum of Tolerance Jerusalem (MOTJ) as part of Youth Capital's "Race to a Million" challenge. The race began at Safra Square and took participants to various locations across Jerusalem, with each destination revealed through clues earned after completing a series of missions.
At MOTJ, participants took part in a special activity led by the School of Civic Discourse, inviting them to challenge stereotypes and experience the power of seeing the world from another person’s perspective.
During the activity, titled “Polarization Games,” participants were divided into two groups based on topics from the worlds of sports and music. Each group was asked to identify and present the stereotypes and assumptions commonly associated with the other group. Then came the twist: the groups switched roles and were challenged to represent the other side’s point of view.
The activity encouraged participants to question their assumptions, step into someone else’s shoes, and discover how listening and meaningful dialogue can transform the way we see one another.
The School of Civic Discourse at MOTJ offers a wide range of workshops, activities, and educational programs for groups, inviting participants to practice active listening, engage with different perspectives, and develop the skills to navigate disagreements through respectful dialogue.
