“This City” | Film Screening and Hebrew Hip-Hop Party
Amit Ulman’s award-winning rap theater production, blending a detective story with Hebrew hip-hop, comes to the Museum of Tolerance Jerusalem for a special outdoor screening on a giant screen at the Amphitheater.
In a dark and imaginary city, detective Joe is called to investigate the disappearance of a young woman. The investigation quickly turns into a complex murder mystery, leading him into the city’s underworld and toward its most notorious criminal. This City combines a detective storyline, film noir aesthetics, humor, and Hebrew rap in a story where words, rhymes, and music drive the plot forward.
The production began as a musical, was performed hundreds of times on stage, and was later adapted into a feature film that won four Ophir Awards. Now, it returns to the city where it was created for a one-of-a-kind evening of cinema and hip-hop under the stars.
Immediately following the screening, the evening continues with a Hebrew hip-hop party featuring DJ Shira Schwartz.
