Icons of Tolerance: Hadag Nahash Marks Three Decades of Creativity at the Museum of Tolerance Jerusalem

The event is part of the Museum’s flagship series, Icons of Tolerance, a multidisciplinary initiative exploring the cultural figures and creative voices shaping public discourse in Israel and around the world. These gatherings provide a platform for reexamining questions of identity, social fabric, and personal responsibility within today’s complex reality. Opening the series with Hadag Nahash reflects the band’s enduring influence on Israeli culture through music that blends artistic creativity with social awareness and civic engagement.

Hadag Nahash, one of Israel’s most influential and important musical groups, has been interwoven with the country’s cultural and social history for three decades. The band’s work, blending distinctive grooves with sharp and relevant lyrics, gives voice to a generation and embodies the values of tolerance and civic involvement. As part of the Icons of Tolerance series, the Museum will host three performances across its various venues.

From June 25 to 27, 2026, the Museum grounds will host a range of events combining live performances, intimate encounters, and cultural discourse. The series offers multiple ways to participate in the weekend’s events, blending a rich cultural experience with meaningful community engagement.

Event Program

Thursday, June 25 | The 30th Anniversary Concert: “Mazminim Etchem Lazuz” (“Inviting You to Move”)

The weekend’s central event will open with a full-scale celebratory performance at the Museum’s open-air amphitheater. The concert will trace the band’s rich repertoire from its early beginnings through its current work in 2026.

Friday, June 26, 14:00 | “In Solomon’s Living Room”: A Musical Kabbalat Shabbat

As part of the festive weekend celebrating 30 years of Hadag Nahash, we want to give a heartfelt shout-out to the band’s saxophonist, flutist, and outstanding vocalist, Shlomi Alon.

What better way to tap into the spirit of this special weekend? Shlomi will arrive with his band, the RetroKings, and with an excellent debut album that moves from Afro and neo-soul to funk and jazz with beats that light up the dance floor. They will be joined by special musical guests for a true celebration on the plaza of the Museum of Tolerance Jerusalem.

Friday afternoon. Only 350 spots available.

Saturday Night, June 27 | “Time to Wake Up”: A Conversation on Art and Society

The weekend will conclude in the Museum theater with a special “Without Guitars” conversation — an open dialogue between the band members and cultural journalist Assaf Liberman. The discussion will focus on the lyrics that have accompanied Israeli society over the past three decades, the role of art in times of crisis, and the band’s social vision. The evening will open with a presentation on the work of the nonprofit organization 100 Fish in Israel’s border communities.

Community Support and Social Solidarity

Over the past three years, following the events of October 7, Hadag Nahash has been active in communities along the Gaza and northern borders through the nonprofit organization 100 Fish – Cultural First Aid. As part of the project’s social vision, 5% of profits from the ticket proceeds from all weekend events will be donated directly to support the organization’s ongoing field activities.
