The Education Ministry’s Conference on Excellence

January 25, 2024

The Museum of Tolerance Jerusalem hosted a conference with the participation of about 200 supervisors from the central district of the Education Ministry about maximizing excellence.

The conference, ”Israeli Journey of Hope,” was intended for the leadership of the central district, company managers, and youth, including supervisors from all areas of supervision: state, state religious, and Arab sectors. The journey has been going on for five years, during which the members of the district's leadership were exposed to Israeli society for its many nuances, its variety of challenges, and its cultural wealth. The purpose of the journey is to bring about a fundamental social change and therefore create committed leadership, value leadership, and inspiring leadership, which will lead to social solidarity within the social complexity. The journey took place as a sign of social responsibility, with the development of the content commissioned by Dr. Granit Almog-Barkat from Ben Gurion University in the Negev. Among the speakers at the conference were Yoni Rees, CEO of the Museum of Tolerance Jerusalem, who greeted those present in the hall, former Member of Knesset Roy Folkman, who spoke about civic excellence, Prof. Moshe Halbertal, who gave a lecture on excellence and trust, and more. The Israeli Journey of Hope Campaign allows the district leadership space for personal and professional growth. Specifically, this seminar focused on excellence from different perspectives, with a focus on practices and performances that are an expression of excellence as a value – those that are reflected at their best at the Museum of Tolerance Jerusalem.
