The Silver Lining
DECEMBER 14, 2023
Exhibition of artwork made by youths from Jerusalem, and from communities that were displaced because of the Gaza war.
In a unique and meaningful collaboration, the Youth Department of the Social Services Division in the Municipality of Jerusalem and the Culture Movement have initiated art courses for young boys and girls from Jerusalem and youth from communities that were dislocated because of the Gaza war.
Led by accomplished artists, these courses enable youth to express their experiences from the wartime period, allowing them to process trauma and showcase hopeful artistic creations. The courses serve as an acute response to the needs of the youth, contributing to the reduction of crime, distress, and various extreme situations.
Beyond imparting artistic skills, these courses provide therapeutic support for young individuals, helping them express their experiences and facilitate healing through creativity. Consequently, the art pieces are filled with hope and vitality.
The Museum of Tolerance in Jerusalem is proud to host the exhibition event, with the participation of Mayor Moshe Lion. The event will also feature a musical performance titled "Remembering the Fallen".
