International Women’s Day | Voices of Courage: Women’s Testimonies in the Exhibition “06:29 – From Darkness to Light”
March 8, 2026
On International Women’s Day, observed today, we turn our attention to the voices of courageous women who chose to share personal testimonies of what they experienced on October 7, 2023, and in the difficult days that followed.
The exhibition “06:29 – From Darkness to Light,” currently on view at the museum, gives central place to the testimonies of women from across Israeli society.
At 06:29 on the morning of Simchat Torah, an unprecedented terrorist attack was launched against the State of Israel — a moment that shook the entire society. From the shock, fear, and pain of that morning emerge in the exhibition personal, honest, and deeply moving voices of women speaking about coping, loss, and fear, but also about strength, resilience, and courage.
We extend our gratitude to the brave women who took part:
Avivit Yablonka, Avital Elgam, Avital Shindler, Orly Cohen, Eilat Samerno, Aya Meidan, Ella Shani, Major Ella Vayoa, Captain Or Ben Yehuda, Einat Wax, Amit Siman Tov, Gal Segal, Galit Waldman, Daniel Aloni, Hadas Ehrlich, Pilot “A.”, Chen Almog Goldstein, Tal Hayon, Yasmin Porat, Limor Atias, Lior Shani, Leila Al-Talalka, Leila Abbas, Maya Azontsaev, Michal Gili Ohana, Michal Nagri, Mali Shoshana, Miriam Beit Halahmi, Nasrin Yosef, Noam Ben David, Dr. Naama Samet Rubinstein, Dr. Nurit Bublil, Sabine Tesa, Sigal Manzuri, Salwa Harav, Roni Lupo, Ricarda Lok, Shifra Buchris.
